  • Can be produced for $250k in Southern California

  • Dramedy, black comedy-drama

  • Few characters

  • Few locations

  • Lead can be male or female

  • 100 pages or less

 

Looking for a script where the main character is going through/suffers an emotional crisis. Where he/she follows a singular obsession to get what they want and it’s a matter of life or death if they get it. Not necessarily literal death (but it could be) but where if they fail to get what they want they’ll end up completely broken. A shell of a human. Emotionally, spiritually, socially, and/or financially dead.

 

Either mostly a drama with black comedy or mainly a black comedy with dramatic elements.

 

Examples of movies that have the kind of journey the main character goes on are:

  • The Wrestler

  • Black Swan
